Our Work in Action

We Helped Bring Digital Watermarking to the Age of AI

Portland, OR

The Challenge

Digimarc, the pioneer in digital watermarking technology, was known for using its technology to identify and authenticate physical objects such as leading global currencies, U.S driver’s licenses, and important medications and vaccines. They wanted to pivot this technology into the digital ecosystem to help  authenticating digital content during the inception of AI-generated content online.

What We Did

As Digimarc was unknown in the AI and digital space, we were integrally involved in all aspects of their pivot. We worked with the company to hone not only their product offering, but the best and most effective messaging strategy for that work. We helped build their presence in the business world, working to define relationships with brands like NBC, Hearst, Sony, and CAA, as well as their presence in Washington, D.C., meeting with leaders on Capitol Hill, at the White House, and in key departments like the CIA and DHS.

Because of these efforts, the CEO’s statement of support was included in the White House press release on President Biden’s Executive Order on AI in October of 2023. Additionally, we helped the company establish its role as a thought leader within the space, culminating in a Summit on AI hosted at the University of California at Berkeley and attended by leaders in academia, the public sector, and business.

“Grove is a rare partner in today’s advisory landscape. They don’t just deliver high-level strategy, they sit at the table with you, help architect the vision, and then roll up their sleeves to execute alongside your team.

They bring world-class strategic thinking, but what truly differentiates them is their willingness and ability to do the work. They operate like a part of your organization, seamlessly integrating into your work, understanding your business at a granular level, and running a clear campaign for impact.”
